The Inkling's Pub - The Eagle and Child in Oxford
Jun 6, 2017 - The Eagle and Child is a pub in St Giles' Street, Oxford. The first record of the pub's name is from 1684. It had been part of an endowment belonging to University College since the 17th century. From late 1933 C. S. Lewis, J. R. R. Tolkien, Charles Williams and Hugo Dyson met there on Monday or Tuesday lunchtimes in a private lounge at the back of the pub known as the 'Rabbit Room'. During these meetings they were reading and discussing various material, including their unfinished manuscripts. (The song is The Shire Theme from LOTR movie.)

The Kilns, the former home of author C.S. Lewis, is located in Headington Quarry, a suburb of Oxford, England. Situated on Lewis Close, this historic residential property is where Lewis wrote The Chronicles of Narnia and is now owned and managed by the C.S. Lewis Foundation.
