Interview one of your grandparents using a list of interview questions provided. Skip the questions that do not apply to your grandparent's specific experiences. Type the information into a document and add some photos! Put the pages into a three ring folder for submission. Make a booklet! As a fun alternative, you could create a PowerPoint! You can do the interview itself any of the following ways: 1 - Do a personal face-to-face interview if you are able to see your grandparents or speak to them over the phone. 2 - Mail the questions to your grandparents as a questionnaire so they can fill in the answers by hand. 3 - Email them the questions so they can simply type their responses into your document. However you get their answers is fine, but you must submit the project with both questions and answers typed! You are heartily and emphatically encouraged to add pictures, as well! This project will help you learn about the last 7-8 decades from an eyewitness! Plus, you will have a personal keepsake of your grandparent to treasure! | ||||
MOVIE REPORT
Movie Report General Study Guide
Step ONE: Read this Study Guide! This is a general approach you can use toward any of the following movie options.
Step TWO: Watch the movie! While viewing it, take notes addressing the questions posed in this study guide along with your own insights.
Step THREE: Write a Movie Report of at least 5 paragraphs. Describe the events in the film and their implications, as well as your personal reflections about what you saw.
You can do your report on the movie anyway you like, but here is a format you could follow:
1 - Write an INTRODUCTORY PARAGRAPH according to the techniques you have learned in your writing classes.
2 – BODY PARAGRAPHS: Move on to a second paragraph. Be sure you include answers to these sorts of questions in the beginning of your report:
3 - BODY PARAGRAPHS: Write more paragraphs.
4 - BODY PARAGRAPHS: Very important! Write at least one paragraph describing what you learned about Socialism from watching the movie.
5 – Write an epic CONCLUDING PARAGRAPH according to the techniques you have learned in your writing classes.
Above all – ENJOY THE MOVIE!!!! If these ideas are too complicated, just write a summary of the plot! :-D

- End your introduction with a topic sentence such as, “We can learn a great deal about the dangers of socialism from the movie ...” …or “________ is an excellent film that everyone should see .” …or whatever point you want to make!

- How does the movie begin?
- Describe the setting. What year is it? Where does the story take place?
- What is going on as the movie opens?
- From whose perspective is the story being told?
- Describe the “protagonist.”
- How are other characters (individuals and/or groups) portrayed?
3 - BODY PARAGRAPHS: Write more paragraphs.
- Describe how the events are unfolding.
- What other characters are introduced?
- Describe the antagonist(s).
- What challenge(s) is the protagonist facing?
- What conflicts are introduced?
- How is Socialism impacting the characters and their lives?
- Which characters support Socialism? Which characters do not support Socialism? How are Socialism supporters different from those who do not support Socialism?
4 - BODY PARAGRAPHS: Very important! Write at least one paragraph describing what you learned about Socialism from watching the movie.
- How does Socialism impact these characters? Does life under Socialism seem appealing?
- What happens to liberty under Socialism?
- Based on the characters in the movie, why do some people support Socialism?
- Do you see any evidence that your country is moving in the direction of Socialism?
5 – Write an epic CONCLUDING PARAGRAPH according to the techniques you have learned in your writing classes.
